first time i've dabbled in true crime, i liked it. no reason for me to be surprised i always watch the true crime shows "the first 48", "forensic files" and my favorite "las vegas jailhouse". two things i didn't like was lack of follow up on pertinent data or just telling me that some obvious sources of information refused to talk to the author but just not mentioning anything is weak and sometimes, too many cliches. i will read more of this category, probably try someone else for comparitive in story telling. Rule always does a competent job with true crime books and she continues her competence here. This book contained a number of true crime stories. The author always provides just the right amount of relevant background material in addition to the gruesome details of the crimes. I never cease to be amazed at the number of foolish women there are in the world who marry men despite the warning signs. A few of the other incidents provided in the book were more along the line of nice girl in wrong place at wrong time variety. All were interesting and kept me turning pages.
Abusive husbands make me frustrated with due process.
