Mr. Duck likes his quiet routine at his private pond and he doesn't want to be bothered by anyone. One hot day, all of the other farm animals invade Mr. Duck's privacy and jump into the pond to cool off. "Mr. Duck tapped. He Flapped. He totally SNAPPED." He orders everyone out of the pond. Apologies and thanks are offered by the other animals but Mr. Duck insists that they go away. He returns to his quiet routine and realizes that something is missing from his life and so he reaches a compromise. Mr. Duck lives all alone and enjoys the privacy and quiet of his pond. One day his peace and quiet is disturbed when a big, fat, noisy pig arrives to take a swim. Soon several other animals: horse, cow, goat, lamb, and chicks arrive to party and swim as well. Mr Duck is mad and his feathers are more than a little ruffled over all of these animals invading his private property. He orders them OUT OF HIS POND, and off they go, and soon Mr Duck has quiet again --maybe a bit too much quiet. Mr Duck decides to compromise, and share his pond at certain times of day. He posts a sign with specific swimming hours......especially for his animal friends. After all, isn't life more fun when you can share it with special friends?Love the colorful illustrations, and the story was teaches children about sharing too. Kids and parents will love this one.
