Sandy beaches, waves breaking on the beach, and just a sense of peace and relaxation. She had to be forced on this vacation by her associates at the law firm. Too many long hours and countless battles in the courtroom had sent her into a state of exhaustion. So now she would spend two weeks soaking up the sun instead of the blistering cold winds of New York City in the winter. She left on May first, and it was supposed to be the height of spring in the city. Yet freezing rain was falling when her plane pulled away from the gate. She wasn’t sad to see the sky clear to blue when she left New York air space and headed into the sun. A vacation instead a constant battle of wills with defense attorneys who tried to put the guilty back on the streets. She was going to relish her free time. She would read a mountain of paperback novels that had grown dusty on her coffee table instead of law briefs. Patience grinned and almost felt giddy with happiness. Lord knows she was going to relish each minute.She dove into the warm, crystal blue water and swam a little way out from South Beach.
