My kids and I love this bedtime story. It an upside down tale of the nightly bedtime routine, where the father is the one who doesn't want to go to bed or have the lights turned out once he's tucked into bed.The illustrations are just so sweet, the expressions on the father's face as begs for one more story and then asks to sleep in his son's bed are charming as are the illustrations of the boy and his dog. The illustrations are kind of quirky and different, I love the little Buick the father is trailing when the son shows us how big and strong he is. This is a hilarious story about a reversal of roles between parent and child, specifically at bedtime. The story is really fun to read aloud, and would be great for a partner read, with one person reading the dad's dialogue and the other reading the rest of the narrative. The illustrations are an interesting mix of texures, mixed media and pictures and the paper used for the book is unusually thick. Overall, we really enjoyed reading this story together.
