I certainly didn’t expect it too. I mean, my Dad’s best friend . . .geesh. Paul has been at every one of my birthday parties, as long as I remember at least, for Christ sake. He watched me grow up—just plain weird, but . . . I guess he was always my Dad’s hot friend when I was growing up. I do remember naming dolls after him and having little play weddings, but ever since I hit puberty I certainly never thought of him in this way until that day. I guess I should tell you what led up to this unlikely event. I moved out of my parent’s house as soon as I could after turning 18. I moved out “alone,” but that is really just what I told my parents. The moment I unpacked my boyfriend moved in, which was exactly what I wanted. However, after a month we hated each other and we broke up. I was crestfallen once he left. I didn’t realize how lonely I was going to be. I cried nearly every night and actually started to miss my parents. I started trying to date a lot of boys my age just to make myself feel loved and desired.
