I really liked this book, but not from the start. Initially, I was disinterested and bored, and almost quit reading. I am glad I continued, because it was well worth it. The characters are interesting, relatable, and in some cases very twisted. There is an element of horror to the story, and a creepiness which gets under your skin. I found after those first few chapters I had difficulty getting myself to let the book go for the night, and sleep! If you like scary thrillers mixed with who-done-it, this book is for you! It will keep you guessing who the killer is amongst the many men right under your nose. I was wrong in all my choices, and the ending came as a very big surprise. I look forward to more books in the series, as this is listed as #1. This was a quick read and a page turner. This was a free book that I downloaded onto my kindle from Amazon. Part of what drew me to the book was the setting. The story takes place in a small town in Louisiana. I enjoyed reading about the main female characters, specifically Haley and Erica. The book reminded me of the early books written by Mary Higgins Clark. There are chapters that are told from the killers point of view, but don't reveal his identity. This leads you to suspect different characters; however, there were some inconsistencies that are not clarified. Overall, a quick, good thriller.
