This entire series was very emotional up until the last book. Then it suddenly just ends with sort of a good ending but there were so many things that were just left open. The main character is Matt and the story starts off how he is not even aware that he is gay. He finds is first partner and love with Jamie. I really can't say much other than their relationship is so special and Matt struggles in the beginning to accept that he is gay. He is very confused and he falls passionately in love with Jamie but there are so many twists and turns throughout the entire series that kept me hooked until the last book. I hope there is a fifth book so that it can kind of answer some of unanswered questions you are left with at the very end. Each book is very short so technically all four of the books together make one book. There is M/M sex scenes but they are not explicit. It was more of diary sort of book. You can feel all his emotions from his happiness to the very deep depression that he gets. I would recommend. Ok. This review will contain what most would consider spoilers but there is no way to avoid that as I vent my spleen. In all fairness I must confess that I was annoyed that I had accidentally purchased this book as I downloaded a few hundred samples late at night, without my glasses, so that annoyance may have had a bearing on how little patience I had with the bollocks that is this story. As I started reading the book I was horrified by the amateurish writing style. At first I forgave the author thinking that the writing style was used on purpose to illustrate the youthful innocence of the characters but then I realised that no, the characters were not that youthful, the author was just not that good. My despair then deepened as the two-dimensional characters bumbled through the story without any attempt made by the author to explore the deeper emotions or develop their characters. At the 70% mark I finally gave up on the book & staggered to my computer to write this review.Who the hell gets raped, without a condom, is left bleeding from the brutality of the rape & then spends the afternoon making sweet love??????????????????????? WTF??????????????? I was gob-smacked. I was horrified. I was further revolted when the victim didn't inform his lover that he had been raped & was possibly a source of infection for STD's. I won't be reading the rest of the book & I will be asking Amazon to put a warning in the description because if you were a victim of sexual assault, this book could trigger you.Not worth the money. Not worth your time.Originally posted on Amazon.com
What do You think about New Discoveries (2012)?
Interesting concept and telling and I'm eager to see how this plays out over the next three books
