No Boundaries (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I have to say with that photo, I had no idea what to expect, but a heaping touch of trepidation. Still not sure what to say about the photo - love how the scene is written though! The atmosphere of this book is really well written; I got a strong sense of morning breaking in the room, and the harsh lit bathroom. Not to mention Jack's morning suprise, the emotions came across well and gave me both a giggle and an eeuw! There's more world building than I expected considering the length and it's nicely thread through the story. Only issue is the story is so short. Made me feel I was getting only a glimpse into this fascinating world and I want to see the whole picture. There seemed to be so much here that was only hinted at, it's what held me back from 5stars. It's complete as it stands, but too short. The characters are appealing, not enough detail to truely visualise Inna's change, how many tentacles, where they come from... But tentacles people! Hot Tentacle P0rn with suction cup marks.I enjoyed the fic, happy to see Mar's has promised more, It's an interesting glimpse into a world with original characters. ....And of course, Hot Tentacle P0rn! Great little story. What happens is that Jack wakes up in the situation illustrated by the prompt pic. (Does it make me a weird person if I say it's kinda cute? And I wouldn't even let an octopus less than three feet away from me.)After that... well, shapeshifting happens, as was to be expected, followed by, er, romantic interactions. (Ha!)I was very pleasantly surprised by how well written this story was. There is a tiny bit of world building that gave me just enough background to understand what was going on and what the relationships between characters were. The writing feels smooth and polished, with no hiccups or ungainly turns of phrase. You guys, there's even some character development. In 5000 words and change. Crazy, right? All in all, I am extremely satisfied. It's a complete story, but I would totally read a sequel, be it a novella, a novel or even just a short story.

What do You think about No Boundaries (2013)?

Kinky, I liked it. However to short to really appreciate the story line. A sequel would be great.
