I enjoyed this romance from Laurie Kellogg, even though I had little emotional connection with the characters at the start. Ms. Kellogg offered an interesting premise and followed it up with a well plotted story. She revealed her characters in layers like peeling an onion, and though I didn't always like their actions, I came to like the people they became through the situations woven throughout the book. I laughed and aww'd and rooted for the happily ever after. I understand that this book is part of a series, but it stands alone quite well. The pacing is even, the settings detailed, the characters ultimately engaging and the endi8ng quite satisfying. If you like to read something with character growth and a good story, this one's for you. *I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review. This book is so well developed. I loved following Brianna after she left David. I really thought we wouldn't see her "side" anymore. I think many authors wouldn't have developed her. I'm so glad we Laurie did. There were so many loveable characters in this book. It was fantastic. I loved how the childhood issues were explored as well. This was just really well written, without too many typos, which was nice to see. I will pursue more books by this author.
