I actually thought this turned out to be a 3-1/2 star book. I downloaded the first 2 books in the series free on Amazon for my Kindle. It took a while for me to get into this story. Not my usual genre and didn't think I would enjoy the constant and never-ending binds and fighting the character got into (and out of). I really began to like the character though and so when I finished Noble Beginnings, I moved right into A Deadly Distance (which I liked more than the first in the series). I will continue through the series to see what becomes of Jack Noble and Bear (which I am assuming will be the focus of the 3rd series). I liked both the plot and the characters, but I wanted more from each. It seemed to go from one fight to another, and I felt in the dark about why events were unfolding as they were. I finished it because I kept hoping for more. I wasn't slowed down by any major proofreading problems; always a plus in my book. I think if I read more books in the series, I'll get a better understanding of the characters.
Good enough that I might try another. But it stretched my credulity right past the breaking point...
