Noelle's Wish (A Christmas Tale) (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
1.5 starsAlthough this story was a little bit cute, it was mostly just stupid. There were so many details and contradicting information that it made it very hard for me to follow and that ultimately distracted me from the story. The storyline itself wasn't much better. The female lead is supposed to have been a victim of sexual and physical abuse, and yet she seems to only have one problem stemming from that and otherwise it never ever makes an appearance into her daily life. Which it would if it were, in fact, as traumatic as the reader is led to believe. There is also the big problem of how the main characters met and instantly have chemistry. Then they are professing their love for each other the very next day! They didn't even spend the day together or anything like that. They simply met for about five minutes then went out on a date the next night which led to them in bed and professing their love. The entire story also felt incredibly rushed and parts seemed to be skipped due to the page constraint. I was just very disappointed with this story all around. Beautiful.Like most lovers of romance I have a soft spot for Christmas romances so I couldn't wait to read this book.Noelle Andrews was born on Christmas Day that was also the day she became an orphan and for Noelle the horrors of the foster care system became her reality, now she's older, she's working at Parker Industries and she's been talked into attending the firms Christmas party by her best friend Eve, but Noelle's not much of a party person and she finds herself in the library talking to the most gorgeous man called Roman.I have to say this book surprised me, I read the blurb and noticed it was only 52 pages long but then I noticed all the reviews, while there was only one UK review it was 5 star and the US had 60 reviews 55 of which were 5 star it wasn't until I'd really started reading that I understood. This book is a Christmas fairy tale it's absolutely wonderful and I loved every minute of it and despite trying very hard not to I still cried.
