I love reading books where I am swept away in the story and enjoy reading about the characters and there crazy lives.Lucy, who is working as a house organizer for a well-known, interesting artist. Has me intrigued, as right now, I am going through my own de-cluttering process. Although her client is a major hoarder, and has ceiling high items through every room (mine is really not that bad in comparison!!) It is interesting to see how everyone, including Lucy who are working on this project find a way to get their own lives back on track, through the process. Some tough subjects, such as a young adult in trouble with drugs and the self-denial one goes through, looking out for them. As well as the idea of suicide. You are hoping through the read, everything works out, positively. Aside from that, the love interests and the quirky attitude held by the hoarding client, is eccentric and fun to read. Of course this romance reader, gives this book a big thumbs up. The story of a semi-professional organizer who is hired to help a reclusive artist purge and organize her house while being on a strict yet mysterious deadline. Added into the mix is the organizer's 19 year old son Ashe who is a conniving drug addict who doesn't appreciate that his mother gave up all her possessions, including her home, to send him to rehab in Florida. The artist Marva was an interesting character and the overall story was engaging with just enough twists to keep the reader interested in the outcome.I enjoyed the overall theme of learning how to let go possessions that can weigh a person down, but more importantly understanding why they were so important in the first place.
What do You think about Objects Of My Affection (2012)?
I enjoyed this one a lot! The hoarder story line was different, but in a good way.
