Did you guys get a dog?” The animal bared his teeth and snarled at Marcario. “Stop that.” Mai waved a finger at the large animal and then fussed at it. “What else do you expect? I told you to stay in the house, but you insisted on coming out to play.” Jelani was having a hard time keeping up with what was going on. Vencel leaned against the house smirking while Mai continued to talk to the enormous wolf as if it understood her. “Mai, what are you doing?” She rolled her eyes and looked at him as if he was the dummy. “Talking to Gaspar. I know you can’t hear him, but I can.” She turned her attention back to the wolf. “It would’ve been so much easier to do this my way.” Vencel looked disgusted.
