The Book starts with Roy calling his sister and asking for help, because he is suspected of murdering an important senator. In this short call he was already annoying me. He seemed self centered and only bent on his own advantage. This negative impression got strengthen when he told his story and showed how naive and stupid he acted (although he knew better than that). In the middle of the book my opinion softened a bit. The less I read about him, the more I liked him. Kind of strange. The story included some twists and turns, but the conclusion is no surprise. Still it was entertaining to read, let alone due to the main character Sandy and Detective Goddard. It's ok, but I won't read it again or recommend it to my friends. I won't complain. I bought this thing for 0 bucks and you get what you pay for. Most of times, at least. But I blame me for doing so. I thought that it could not be that bad and at least I could read a pulp fiction to waste time. It's entertaining, ain't it? As a matter of fact, it ain't so. I couldn't imagine it was so bad. The intrigue is thin, most of time the story goes in other directions, the characters are unreal, incredible, flat, plain stupid. Come on! A guy who falls for an old botoxed, worked out granny who should be in a home for the elderly and spends the afternoon by the pool showing off in thongs, who lays him down without any particular reason and puts him in a difficult. That's the guy at the centre of the story. Worst thing is that next he falls on a similar trap with yet another sexy oldie who finds him irresistible.I understand that one person could succeed in publishing such a bad joke, but when I finished the ..., can't find a word to describe what I just read, I discovered that the perpetrator has published at least three more things with the same main character, the sister who hasn't seen the brother for years, who despises him for having abandoned him when she was in a bad moment and who suddenly discovers she has a fraternal love justifying her losing job and all. One doesn't expect novels to be realistic, but one doesn't expect either to read novels so far away from reality.Sorry. Bad choice I made.
