Honestly I did not like this story at all. The leading man was not only an ass but for a man that strove for 3 years to buy the land and woman he wants and calls her a wench? Nah. I dont see it, I mean why take the time and energy to get her hand when you treat her like a whore... The way he treated the brothers too did nothing but make me mad. It just made my heart ache for them... He seemed more villian than hero to me.. Mabye if the story was longer and if we say how it progressed it wouldnt be so bad but as it is I really did not like it. Really quick read. At first you think this knight is an ass and he does come off that way but you'll change your mind about him soon enough. Sybillie is left at the desitute keep with her three younger brothers and 3 elderly helpers. Then one day a couple of men ride up with proof of thier claim to the keep. Sybille's father sold the keep and everything in it..including her and her brothers.This was a freebie from nook that I finally got around to reading. It was a little to short for me. It seemed like a historical romance on fast foward. The bare bones of a story without all that fluffy filler.
