This was a recommendation book off of Good Reads so I thought I try a new author that I have never heard about. After reading this well written mystery, I am going to read another book from Ms. Spindler. The characters in this book are well developed and there are so many subtle clues dropped throughout the novel that lead to a shocking climax at the end of the book. The setting is in the beautiful wine country of California and I am ready to take a road trip after the author sparked my interest with her well detailed descriptions. If you are looking for a great mystery book, this one is for you! The book was good. Tho at first chapter or so, I felt like I didn't want to read it. But I read it nonetheless, thankfully so. Because after those boring first two chapters (well for me), by the third or fourth chapter I was immediately hooked and the next thing I knew I couldn't put it down. It kept me thinking until the end. Tho the twists were not that predictable, they were not as strong too. Anyhow, still a good twist. But not so amazing. There's just one thing that irked me some time while reading. It was Alex's excess drama over some things. Sometimes when I read her dramatic thoughts, it felt like I was reading about a teenager who had her heart broken or whatever. When in fact she was what? 30 years old already. And I just don't like drama to be abundant in a crime thriller book. All in all it was a great REED. And Oh yeah I like Reed's perspective. Very appropriate. This book had me stayed up till 4 am.
