Other People's Rejection Letters: Relationship Enders, Career Killers, And 150 Other Letters You'll Be Glad You Didn't Receive (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
It's always interesting to see how people deal with rejection, but even more so to see the rejector's side. This is a unique "anthology" of sorts that will definitely have readers smile, frown, and just pause to think, "What if I received this letter?" I believe it serves as an inspiration to hopefully spur one to strive more for their goals and dreams. I'd also recommend Bill Shapiro's other "anthology" in Other People's Love Letters. :) Delved too far into the realm of irrelevant schadenfreude at times, but came back up with some interesting tidbits (such as the one for Hendrix.) I was probably expecting more historically significant letters, rather than many that were mundane. Ah well, neat concept anyways. Probably best as a coffee table, or even bathroom reader if you're into that type of thing. Nothing earth shattering, but it's good enough for some light reading. Easy to pick up, easy to put down.
What do You think about Other People's Rejection Letters: Relationship Enders, Career Killers, And 150 Other Letters You'll Be Glad You Didn't Receive (2010)?
I thought this would be funny and kitschy, but it mostly depressed me.
