The continuing saga of Lang Downs, where Caine and Macklin have created a world where it matters not who you love, but rather that you are loved. The new owners of the station, after Caine's mother's gift at Christmas continue their habit of taking in strays. This time it is Jeremy Taylor, the younger brother of their biggest detractor and neighbour. To top this off is the arrival of Sam Emery, Neil's older brother who is in the midst of a divorce.Jeremy has been thrown out by his brother for his support of Caine and Macklin's relationship, which his brother has constantly derided. Sam has admitted that his marriage was a sham only to appease his father. When these two meet the sparks fly and they must find a way to survive until the divorce is final and their life can really start.A really great read that I just could not put down. I was enjoying this book very much until I began to get close to the end, but when I realised how close I was, and that it didn't seem like "anything" was going to happen, I began to feel dissatisfied. I liked Sam, and I really liked Jeremy (a lot), but I'm not sure I am convinced about their relationship. That doesn't really have anything to do with there being no sex (my enjoyment of book 4 attests to that) but in this one, I needed something like that to prove their connection. I'm still not sold. I feel I was told they had fallen in love but wasn't shown.
What do You think about Outlast The Night (2013)?
Good series with developing MCs- I liked these two MCs a lot.
