Just... bad. Usually I hate saying that as I know how *hard* it is to write a novel, but I don't think much effort was put into this one at all. Some nice touches from the 90s and clearly the writer remembers a lot about teen friendships, but a story that's going nowhere, paper thin characters, awful dialogue (awful!), writing that's ridden with clichés. Sorry. I do not get the five star reviews. About a 4.75I found this a really good book, the relationships between the two main characters and the different perspectives worked really well. I loved the fact that porter doesn't try to cover up some things, it makes the book feel more realistic. I tested up several times in this and could connect with the characters. The only downside was the whole talking about vegetarians in a negative way, i don't mind if it was the character talking, but be more worried if it was porters view. However, I will forgive my feelings being offended slightly because several things makes it not as bad as I made out. I think obviously I reacted to it at first not considering the context as much. But now I do. So yeah really good read and can't wait to read Goose.
What do You think about Paper Airplanes (2014)?
An interesting story of friendship between 2 friends and the struggles they encounter and survive.

This is what mothers and fathers of teenage girls need to read. It mirrors so much of my youth.

Absolutely perfect - and so incredibly British - young adult literature.
