Move over Christian Grey, there is a new hottie on the chick lit scene and his name is Alex Tate. Love, love, loved this book . . . could hardly put it down (yes, I lost sleep over this one). My fav. part of this book, besides Alex Tate and the steamy sex scenes, was the ending. For those of you who are going to read this book, DO NOT read the last page first!!! Can hardly wait for the next book in the series - lucky for me it is out on Dec. 1st!!!! As a fan of historical romances growing up, I doubted whether this book would measure up to my old love of the romance genre. Alas, I was mistaken! I couldn't put the book down. Alex was truly the hero of this story while Aby succumbed to her doubts and fears of believing in the possibility that this romance is real and deserved. Whether it's 1865 or the 21st century, the classic tale of sexual attraction that sweeps the characters to new awakenings, the realization of the new feelings that bloom, recognizing the moment when your love is your life, feeling your heart skip a beat at the slightest thought of the other, and of the inevitable sentiment that this can't be real or right, is timeless. "Perfect Plans" speaks to the desires of a happy ending for all of us...though I believe it was 'perfectly planned' to leave us waiting for that happy ending. I anticipate the sequel to be just as classic a romance novel as "Perfect Plans" is - continued in the excellent penning of C.J. Wells. Well-read, well written, well done!
