Persuasion is one of my favorite Jane Austen novels and this retelling did not disappoint. I know one novel's main character is an adult while the other novel's main character is a teen. Even with more than a hundred years separating the authors the novels are just fun and have storylines and emotions that reach out, grab you and allow you to feel connected to the characters. Will continue to recommend your novels!! Thank you for another great, clean read. This was another quick, cute read in the series. Some things I didn't like: there were a lot of characters to keep track of. Also, almost all the characters were unlikable, but that is in keeping with Austen's original novel. Also, the premise of this story is that a girl rejects a boy and then runs into him years later and wishes she had accepted him in the past. I don't understand why James has to keep all these characters in high school! She has the original meeting take place in the 9th grade so that when they meet again they are still in high school. My oldest is about to start 9th and he is 14!!! I hope he won't be professing his undying love to some girl anytime soon!! She couldn't have had the characters originally meet in high school and then run into each other again in college? Even a high school reader could still enjoy reading a book that takes place in college. I mean they'll be that age soon!
What do You think about Persuaded (2012)?
more like 2.5 but I needed to read something light and this retelling of Persuassion did the job.

Kept wincing throughout. If I liked the plot it's because of Jane Austen.
