A story told in letters between two women whose husbands are in WWII: 1943-1945. One is from Iowa, one from Mass. They're strangers when they begin the letter exchange and end up as special friends. This was an unusual way to tell the story but I became invested in the characters and their experiences. A good read! An interesting side note: the two authors met through a blog site and began emailing each other. The idea of writing a book together developed. They have never met face to face. I simply adored this book! It is about two women who write letters back and forth during WWII while their husband's are gone serving. Upon finishing the book, I immediately flipped back to the first page and began reading it again, which is something I NEVER do. (I pretty much never read the same book twice. Too many books too little time to be messin' with that. ;) So, that just goes to show how much I truly enjoyed this book. p.s. This is one of those books written entirely in letters. I thought I was going to hate it, just for that fact. But it works so beautifully well. This book is actually written by two authors. They had actually never met upon finishing this book!! They wrote it all via emails back and forth while in 'character'. Brilliant.
