Irene Hannon is becoming one of my favorite Authors! I can't wait to read another one! All the characters were brought out in the story and you could feel the sorrow or joy that they were experiencing. I enjoyed how the sisters came together to become not only sisters but friends. It showed how each of them learn how to forgive, let go and move on and in the process their faith grows and they find the courage to find love. If you are wanting a book to the reality of issues that are of today, this book has it all. I wanted to read something heartfelt and emotional. I guess the danger here is that the things that stir one person's passion are anathema to someone else. I loved the way this started, and I connected with the characters immediately. As a Quaker I was able to engage with the religious characters and accept their faith. I liked them for it. Even if you are not religious, the characters were acting because of what they believed to be right, and I think that's understandable. Two things began to bug me as I went along. One was the writer's style; just the way she ended every single chapter on a single-line challenge. It's a nice device to get people to read on, chapter after chapter, but it was overdone and started to feel like an Upworthy article. The other was the particular life challenge faced by one of the characters. I am not going to include spoilers. Suffice it to say, I felt the point was laboured and made my flesh crawl - BUT - that is because my own beliefs in this matter differ slightly, so I read on, as I am always willing to see both sides. Ultimately it was about forgiveness. But I did find myself rolling my eyes at the character in question quite a bit. It's a pleasant read but there were too many forced issues - in the style and the content - to make it a successfully inspiring book, for me.
What do You think about Pewnego Lata (2013)?
It was a good book but it was also predictable.
