I have been sitting here for awhile trying to figure out what to write. I am almost speechless but trying to figure out that to write. I Loved this book and it's going to be one of my favorites that I will read over and over again.Very good Author's note at the beginning of book, that I think everyone should read. I Love Laura Kreitzer creativity to this book! Writing has a passion to it, and just from the way she writes and tells her stories, makes me feel that she has a passion for what she's writing about. I was hooked from the beginning. Exciting read.The pain that Summer, Landon and everyone goes through is heart breaking. A secret society called the secret clock society is trying to capture summer. Summer is strong and a very brave girl who was experimented on as a little girl and later became a slave, Abused and tortured, after what she goes through, her story is amazing to read! This book pulls you on from the beginning till end, I had a hard time putting it down. What I liked:1. The concept - time travel, slavery, escape, hope in a time of darkness2. Summer's ability to trust Gage after what she has been through3. Gage's willingness to help Summer and friends.4. Reunion with Mom.5. The political intrigue.What I didn't:1. Needs some editing.2. The love story kind of takes over the rest.3. The scene in the camp/prison yard where Gage holds down the 'bad guy' for Summer to kick him. It's one thing to defend yourself and another to have someone hold someone down while you beat them. Especially after what Summer went through, you'd think she'd be tough enough to take care of some things on her own.

LOVED this book. It was so different & descriptive. Can't wait for book 2!
