Piece De Resistance Piece De Resistance (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
Similarly to my opinion of the second book in this series, my opinion of this book is probably influenced by how much I identify with the main character. Not that I ever had a French man and an American man vying for my attentions or started a wedding cake business-- but the going overseas, speaking two languages, trying to fit in at church as a young adult, and even loving a guy named Dan made it seem a bit personal at times. Anyway, Lexi's journey of finding her own place in the world was fun to follow. As I plan my own wedding it was fun to get a glimpse into the wedding cake industry. And every word of French thrown in made me smile. Light and fluffy Christian chick-lit, but a good read, especially if you're a lover of pastries or France. What a delightful read! I am so pleased to have found this series by Sandra Byrd...I waited anxiously for each new one to come out. This is an easy read, great for young Christian romantics...and anyone else who enjoys a fun love story. AND as an extra bonus, there are RECIPES too. I love novels with recipes.Pick this one up today. You don't have to read the previous two, but I recommend them too.
