But Adam is really bonny and kind and sexy and everything Cait could want in a husband. Cait has a secret supporter in Farquhar whom she saved from the pillory and who knows that there is mischief afoot through magic. When the time comes for Cait to either commit the deed or surrender to the evil consequences for not doing so, will clan pride be stronger than her feelings for her husband? How will Farquhar figure into this?A great pre-quell to the series, this book lays the groundwork well. The characters are well-drawn and believable. The action moves smoothly in most places and the setting is great.
