I will GLADLY say that I'M HOOKED! !! As unconventional as Harbinger is, he's double that in LOVEABLE! !! The storyline for Plain Jane wS TOTALLY ODD, but once I followed the characters and clues, The Profiler ROCKS!!! I can't wait to make my way thru the 2 short stories tgst are like SPRINLES on the icing...WEST CAN SPIN A GOOD WHO-DUNNIT TO MATCH ANY OF THE "MASTERS" today...DO YOURSELF a favor and get the box set so you dont hafta pyt them down at the end of one, lol!!!! One of those books offered free for a limited time, so I download it at that time because it seemed interesting, only to read it weeks or months later. When I started reading it, my phone was offline, so I couldn't check the books' details. I only knew what was said in the title and first pages: that it was a detective story not for the faint of heart. Okay. So I didn't know if it was part of a series or if it was rated-M. You bet that confused me! See, the characters had enough backstory that they were always thinking about/referring to, so I thought I missed a book or two. Not to mention that I was expecting it to turn a BDSM route after some scenes. Still, it was an enjoyable read, even if (1) it crossed my disbelief threshold at some parts, (2) the final confrontation was a bit too cheesy and (3) some formatting usually found in indie books like this one irked me (underlined and italicized word at the same time?! What is this, fanfic?)
What do You think about Plain Jane: Brunettes Beware (2010)?
A totally sick and exciting mystery/thriller book. Ms. McCray has an active imagination! Good read!

Wish I could have given this book 0 stars. Bad plot and unlikable characters.
