Another wonderful Amish book from Ms Wiseman.I really enjoy most of her books as they have enough romance, mystery, suspense and christianity without any of it being thrust at you too much. This book is about Carey, a journalist recovering from some trauma, who is forced on vacation and goes to stay with an old friend who has become Amish. Carey discovers her own spirituality whist exposing the flaws and the wonders of Amish Christianity. A gentle and fun book. This book continues the story of Lillian and Samuel who have begun their life together as a family and had a baby girl. Lillian's best friend from Houston, Carley Marek, has previously suffered a tragic auto accident which killed her mother and left her unable to have children. when her editor tells her that she WILL take a vacation, she decides to visit Lillian and her family in Amish country. There she discovers a closeness to God missing from her life, but cannot totally accept the Amish ways, primarily due to their Shunning of Samuel's brother who has become a doctor. When their son David suddenly faints, Samuel and Lillian take him to the hospital, where his brother is among the doctors treating him. Dr. Noah discovers that David has advanced stages of kidney failure and tries to work with the family to accept the treatment he needs in order to save his life.
