This book was a huge disappointment. I had read the first 2 in the series and enjoyed them. They have good information about honey and honeybees and some good recipes. Unfortunately, a pretty good mystery (story-wise) turned really stupid with the antics of the main characters. The main character wants to see in the house where a body was found, so she breaks out the window with a hammer and goes in. Her "partner" in sleuthing knees a man in the groin, takes him away in a van and interrogates him, then tells him she will claim he tried to rape her if he tells. These 2 characters are supposed to be the good guys. I don't think I will read any more of these. The immaturity and juvenile behavior of the main character is a big turn-off to me. I enjoy a lot of the parts of these stories but there are moments when Story herself falls into the TSTL category. When you know that someone is a killer, why would you work so hard to put yourself in harms way? I also have to question her relationship with Patti, since she drags her into trouble on a regular basis. I understand feeling sorry for someone who appears to have no friends but letting them involve you in things that are consistently illegal makes no sense to me.The bee lore was a little lacking in this book, not nearly as many interesting facts as in the previous two which I missed. The plot line was interesting and the family dynamics were as interesting as always. I just hope we get to the point where Story doesn't feel the need to almost get herself killed in every book.
What do You think about Plan Bee (2012)?
Pretty good book with a nice twist in the end. The author left readers hanging and wanting more.
