Though she wasn’t able to recall her dreams in exact detail, she knew they had been pleasant ones and she awoke with a smile on her lips. She snuggled into the soft silk bed sheets and moved her feet a little, seeking out Matt. Although she knew that the bed was ludicrously large, she couldn’t understand why she was unable to find him, so she rolled over and opened her eyes. To her disappointment, she discovered that she was alone. It couldn’t have been long since Matt had abandoned her, for she could still sense where he had been lying. With the fingers of her right hand, she traced the imprint that his body had made on the sheets, remembering, as she did so, what it was like to touch him. His absence troubled her slightly and she found herself hoping that he hadn’t had second thoughts about spending the night with her. Her concerns proved unfounded for, the very next moment, the door eased open and Matt entered carrying a huge breakfast tray laden with goodies.
