In one way my reaction to the book may be a tribute to the author's skill. I was appalled at all of the unprotected sex depicted. The mother apparently had unprotected sex several times with the father of her baby. I also wondered how she got hep c which I don't think is that easy to contract. Did I mention she only knew the man for 5 months? Now to get off of my rant. I didn't find it particularly suspenseful. The characters were uninteresting. Won't read any more. The Line Between Here and Gone by Andrea Kane brings us back to the Forensic Instincts team. Although I found that the story predictable, I still enjoyed reading it play out. The author did have a surprise or two in there for us though. My favorite part of this series is reading the interaction between the team members. The banter is full of sarcasm which I always find entertaining. I will continue to read this series and recommend it. 3.5 stars
