In the genre of short gay erotic fiction, Josephine Myles's story "Pole Star" is a very simple story of Matt a pole dancer who hurts himself & lands in the hospital to have an X-Ray done. There he meets Sal the radiographer who he's instantly attracted to. When the 2 meet after Sal finishes his shift, the 2 go back to his place & make out & eventually end up involved. This is a work that you just as a reader have to accept as is & wonder really how realistic the idea of frog boxers or scrubs would be for attraction purposes, but if it works whose to argue. Just a simple story of pole dancer meets radiographer leads to sex & to relationship something that's not entirely impossible. So I decided to read this today and it's a short little fun read. Normally I dislike books that read in first person, but this one was kinda nice. Especially at the end where he concludes things as if he's writing a blog or telling you what's been going on. It's a comfortable kind of ending and I liked it. Like reading a letter from an old friend.Nevermind that it includes a fun sixty-nine. I also normally am not into red heads but the main character was cute in personality, which wins every time. I really wish this would have been a lot longer, but it was a very enjoyable read. There's only one sex scene and the rest is these two guys meeting and flirting, which is fine by me. It's cute.
What do You think about Pole Star (2012)?
Makes me want to run out and get some froggy boxers.
