I've read all the books in this series back to back before reviewing them. The ladies secret, or not so secret, steps to manipulate their men are funny. I can picture the women all sitting around the table plotting while they banished the men to the study. The chauffeur in this book is only a small part but he's very witty.The characters are fantastic. They're real, animated and full of life. The books focus on a different character's love story each time but with the others being involved in the background plot and this makes for a successful formula. Each time you meet a new character you wonder where their journey in this story is going to end. In each book there is an underlying plot which accompanies the two main characters finding their love for each other. The plots are well thought out and interesting but they could have developed more if the books were longer.You can read the books standalone but to fully appreciate the writing I suggest you try and read them in order.The author has a sense of humour which is conveyed through her characters and had me chuckling out loud at times.I'm very glad I discovered this author and look forward to reading other books by her. "Good ideas.."I think Ruth Cardello has good ideas where storyline is concerned. How many times have I heard "I don't know what to write about" sited as the primary reason that people give for not picking up the pen? Lord knows I've said it myself.So she is able to develop an idea, research it and make it highly entertaining and that's most of the battle.I really am looking forward to the next in the series. Oh, and I'm a man.. and learning a whole lot about how the other half thinks. It's truly fascinating; it's such a pity that most guys don't realise the free resources contained in all these so-called 'chick-lits'.
