It's sort of not great to give this only two stars because the writing was pretty good, but. 1. I felt like there was a lot of recycling from the last book (oh! they shall learn to love! - oh! but he is so very inappropriate). Having read them straight up back to back, it really stood out. Had I let time elapse I likely would not have cared.2. I found the "situation" to be pretty damn far-fetched in the end. The first bits, those I bought, but the end "twist" was pure melodrama and I was not into it.3. While I liked both characters, their actual romance was dull as dishwater. Thus - two stars. Lovely, sweet read. I'm a sucker for the marriage of convenience plot line, and this is good and strong, with a very short timeline to achieve it but great reasons on both sides so you buy into it. Of course, this is much easier to do in Regency England than present day, but I'd love to find a really good contemporary marriage of convenience.Margaret is a lovely heroine, and Duncan suitably gloomy to start with. If anything, I thought it could have used a bit more tension...things get worked out pretty easily...yet I still enjoyed it.
