Power Systems: Conversations On Global Democratic Uprisings And The New Challenges To U.S. Empire (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I would recommend this book to International Relations students or any current affairs / social politics enthusiast. This book reminds me of 'Diskusi Koridor', regular afternoon talk I used to attend in college, for covering many subject matters that most people talk about. Chomsky, in his conversations with David Barsamian, answered numerous questions from his point of view; from democracy, economic recession, Arab Spring, education system, mental slavery, globalisation, media propaganda, corporate power, poverty et cetera. As he wrote this very beautifully, Chomsky has helped his readers understand his opinions easily, and reading this feels like enjoying chocolate cake; so delicious. So much so that you're addicted and want to read more and more books by him. Noam Chomsky is still Noam Chomsky. It had been a while since I read one of his books/interviews, but I wanted to see what he had to say about recent world events. As expected, Chomsky compares, contrasts, and analyzes current issues with their historical analogs with his incredibly encyclopedic knowledge. It is impressive and provokes critical thought, though nothing written in these interviews was unexpected or differed much from what this intellectual exemplar has already said/written.

What do You think about Power Systems: Conversations On Global Democratic Uprisings And The New Challenges To U.S. Empire (2013)?

Just incredible. Chomsky's intellect and (more importantly) lucidity is just astounding.

Chomsky at his controversial best. Still sharp at 84 + years of age.
