Praktische Gids Voor Een Gelukkige Hond (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
The content is great and I learned a lot about leadership in general. Exercise, discipline, affection. Cesar's style has many cliches and seems egotistical but by the end of the book his authentic personality is whole showing confidence and vulnerablity - and that gives the content even more impact.I've developed more "calm assertive" energy while reading this book (listening to it while walking my dog!) and I'll remember the no touch, no talk, no eye contact method, too. I've only seen bits and pieces of Millan's original show, but his advice always seemed pretty decent. Goodness knows it would be nice to not really mean the "demon spawn" nickname I've given my dog, so when I saw my library had this available as an audiobook I borrowed it. Overall it wasn't a bad read--probably more helpful as a physical book rather than an audio one, so you can find parts to refer to later on easier--but there was an awful lot of repetition. Still, he's got me walking D.S. twice a day now--hope it helps, and sticks.
