Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 07 (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

assignment: describe this volume in five words."an explosion of shippy feelings"(i spent an hour in this morning rolling about my bed in delight because usagi and mamoru! he stays at home keeping chibi-usa alive while giving her emotional support to go out and fight! they are actually my ideal romance aughhhh, i don't know what to do with my feelingsother great things overshadowed by my usagi/mamoru hyperfocus: chibi-usa and hotaru, friendship feelings of; lonely outer senshi finding community; haruka/usagi feelings i am putting in a corner until i figure out how to reconcile them with my primary ships)4 stars This arc loses a little bit of speed midway through, mainly because the outer senshi protest way too much about not being able to work with the inner senshi. You're all sailor guardians, you're all going to fight together, get to it, dammit! Also, the focus lingers on Chibi-Usa a little too long for my liking during the early chapters, but I get that a connection has to be established between her and Hotaru. But as soon as the story hits upon Usagi's Super Sailor Moon power up everything gains traction again. We even get a fun little scene where they all visit Haruka's apartment after it's been destroyed by an enemy and she says she's going to have to run out in the night to escape paying for it, and makes a joke about her and Michiru always having patrons. (Side note: Sailor Uranus is officially my favorite. We'll see how I feel when the outer senshi get shunted to the side in the following arcs, but oh my God I fucking love her. She's just such a bad ass!)Overall, a very excellent continuation of one of my favorite Sailor Moon arcs.

What do You think about Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 07 (2011)?

I'm still really enjoying this manga and like the current storyline. I know I've mentioned this before, but it amazes me how different this is from the anime. Even though everything seems balanced, it still feels rushed to me.Particularly in regards to the villains. This is something that felt lacking in the other storylines as well. All the minor villains-- Saphir, Rubeus, the sisters, the witches, etc-- get very little attention in the manga and are defeated fairly easily. They don't seem to serve much purpose other than as filler before the big battle.Of course, this is my first exposure to the manga so I have no way of knowing if the Japanese versions are different. Also, I again have the problem of previous exposure to the anime, which develops the villains in much more depth. However, I am still enjoying it and will continue reading the rest of the available volumes. I can take the good parts about the changes as well as the disappointing parts.

Uno de los tomos más largos, más lentos, pero más interesantes.
