Absolutely adored this book! I hated the first few chapters since I felt like I was going into it blind, no idea what was happening. But it was the perfect combination of romance, suspense, friends, family, steamy scenes, everything you can possibly want! Conner and Lizzie's relationship was so special to me since I also have a brother with special needs (since birth) and a husband who has managed to form a good relationship with him as well. Cannon is every girl's dream guy!I'm really looking forward to reading more in this series-especially hearing Rhett's story. This was 4.5 stars for me and I rounded down to 4 for a reason, which I'll get to.This is the story about Lizzie and Cannon. Lizzie is touring in a band with her best friends, needs a band member, sees Cannon at a rest stop since he has a guitar case asks him to join them. Lizzie's got an intense background, a lot of anger and pretty serious family issues, but also a lot of love -- she is legal guardian for her brother who was rendered mentally challenged after an accident, for which she blames her father. All in all this was a pretty good book. And I'm hoping there's more to come since there are unresolved stories among Lizzie's friends, Jarrett and Rhett Foster, as well as with Cannon's sister and maybe Liz's step siblings.Lizzie is such a multi-layered character -- living for a long time with a pretty significant responsibility (her brother) and these issues from the past about her father who was a philanderer and absentee, and her mother, who was an alcoholic and absentee. It's heartbreaking to read. But she's also 23 and has been living with this for so long, she's having panic attacks and will likely run herself into the ground before long. And Cannon, what a great book boyfriend: hot, musical, gets Lizzie almost instantly and becomes the ying to her yang. There are so many loving and romantic moments between the two of them that I got emotional.I felt like the ending was rushed. She forgave so easily even before she knew the truth of the past -- she was certainly a better person than I. What kind of man brings his mistress to his wife's funeral?? Even if he "apologized" which I felt was half-hearted, it would still take more time to forgive, given the history there. And then telling her to grow up? He had some nerve. Was not a fan of the title either, even though it's worked into the story, I feel like it fell flat.I actually liked most of the epilogue, despite some unresolved questions... did Cannon get a job? What? What happened to Vanessa? What has Rhett been doing? We've got detail everywhere else.
