After their chat, Drake and the realtor in the fine black suit had gone outside, and the realtor threw the “For Sale” sign from the yard into the back of his big shiny Escalade. Drake came back inside with the keys for her and the promise that it was hers and paid for until she decided to move. He carried in the single box of possessions she had managed to get out of Eagleton before she fled and put it on the white Formica counter.
