I reread this book for about the 12th time this afternoon, but this is the first time that I've written a review for it. Why 12 times? Because this book makes me feel really good from cover to cover. There are some spots that I particularly like to read over and over; around the campfire, baking cookies, with Darcy's sister, and when Darcy babysits. It is a clean read with enough angst to seem realistic. Will I read it again? Yes. It's one of my go-to books when I'm having a bad day. In this version of Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth (or Beth) is a college student in Wyoming, and Darcy is some really rich businessman. It had...way too many differences to P&P - which I didn't care for. I love variations, but this was so varied, it often felt like a completely new story. She changes the names of the characters with the exception of Darcy (and I guess 'Beth....although her last name is Pride?)...and if you have ever read any of my other reviews...you know that is a big pet peeve of mine. The names are fine. Leave them. But I guess...as they watched 1995 P&P during the book...the author felt inclined to change the names? The Bingley character and Jane character never break up...which actually I don't mind. But I do not really like Darcy - especially in the beginning, and NOT because he's proud...which should be the case. No instead he's downright snarky, and he thinks by being an ass, he'll get Elizabeth to like him. I don't see that in P&P. I think while Darcy is at Netherfield he really is trying to push her away, because he doesn't want to like her, not because he's honestly trying to flirt. And Beth kind of seems like a ...well... let's just say not a nice person. So I really don't see what Darcy sees in her. And of course in P&P I adore Elizabeth. Any zingers she sends Darcy's way I think are called for, and I'm cheering for her! That's not the case in this book. Also this book is definitely from the world of LDS...which isn't a problem...but it's just definitely in your face when they keep talking about how much love a soda that has no caffeine in it, and alcohol seems to be the devil. Makes reading it while drinking a glass of wine seem wrong...lol. But...I would actually read it again. Why? --because it was kind of a feel good story. There were some really cute parts in it - like their little kitchen fight, or how bad Darcy feels when Elizabeth cuts her finger. Some of those parts, although still seemed...not P&P...were actually very heartwarming, and I really enjoyed reading them.So I guess to sum up - as a P&P variation, I didn't like it - but as a book in general, it was good :)
What do You think about Pride's Prejudice (2013)?
This book is very similar to the lds movie version of pride and prejudice, in my observation.

I had some issues with the storyline interpretation, but overall enjoyed the book.
