It's not that I mind romances that have princesses as their main characters - it just bothers me when they are from invented European principalities between Bavaria and Switzerland (a Germanic region) but are given Russian names and accents. Nyet? This is a gossamer thin novella involving a snow-storm, a determined young widow and a handsome hero who is more than usually susceptible to the sight of a lovely young woman asleep on a bench with lax security and chaperones. PRINCESS IN DISGUISE by Karen Hawkins is an exciting historical romance set in Scotland. #1.5 of "The Duchess Diaries". Princess Menshikov of Oxenburg, Alexandra Romanovin, yes isn't that a mouth full is through being courted so she is off to Scotland in disguise. James Keith,Earl of Kintore,Viscount Stonehaven and Baron Urie, another mouth full becomes her rescuer, and so much more. A quick fun romp in Scotland. A possible love at first sight kinda of thing. A Russian Princess and a Scottish Earl, who would have thought. Another enjoyable read by this author. Received for an honest review from the publisher and Net Galley.RATING: 4HEAT RATING: MILDREVIEWED BY: AprilR, My Book Addiction Reviews
What do You think about Princess In Disguise (2013)?
And this is the reason why I hate reading novellas. Too fast, too abrupt, too... unbelievable.
