SPECIAL ORDER       The thing everyone always forgets about Bill Pace is that he only pretends to be forgetful and busy. It took fifteen minutes for me to remind Pace why he owed me. But it only took him an hour to get Randall Nehalem out of Earthside. He didn’t even get up from his desk.
    “I’ve got people,” Pace said.
    “I know, and I’m one of them.”
    “So you owe me one now.”
    I said, “No, we’re even. This was the favor you owed me.”
    “You right, you right.” He repeated and laughed.
    Pace was actually an easy guy to work with. That’s why he had so many ‘people’ roaming the entire planet. If Pace called, you were genuinely happy to hear from him. When you didn’t hear from him, you started to wonder if the man was dead.
    “Where is he?” I asked.
    “He’ll be in my office in a few minutes.
