Promise For Spring, A (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

This was a quick easy read. I loved the premise but initially hated one of the main characters. Emmaline rubbed me the wrong way from the first chapter. Her stubbornness was extremely annoying but I suppose that if she wasn't stubborn there would be no story. But despite some characters' flaws i really enjoyed this book. I was pleased, surprised, and saddened many times during the course of my read and I loved every page. I finished this book in one day (which for a mom of three kids 8y and under is very rare indeed).I was a little frustrated with Emmaline for up to about 1/2 through because she seemed like such a spoiled brat. But can't we all be when things are seemingly not going our way. It had enough of the true romance to warm your heart. In all it was a good book, it obviously kept me reading and is was in general an easy read. So grab a blanket, a cup of something hot (hot cocoa)and curl up with your cat and enjoy the read.
