Aside from the first few pages with a glaring mistake in it, with the whole broken arm thing..in book one never having a broken bone until her finger, now all the sudden she fell out of a tree as a kid and got a broken arm..i liked it, obviously, I finished it in a few hours. Speedy plot, I kept waiting for the grand finale, the final conflict, some major thing to happen, but it was speedy like the rest of it. As far as Maddie and Ryder..their back and forth was annoying through the book, and it was awfully convient for brody to have been an engineer to rig up running water and stuff. I wouldn't mind having Evas story either, what she endured, and her and brody..This book was more romance than end of the world stuff, which was somewhat disappointing to me, I didn't quite understand how they couldn't grow their own food..or whatever, since apparently they were surrounded by farmland everywhere.I did enjoy it though. The perfect follow up to Promise Me Darkness. It picks up where you expect it to and took me on apocalyptic journey that had me scared, crying and yearning to have Ryder back with Maddie. I love how Maddie transforms into a stronger person in this book. Having to ensure that no gives up on the man she loves so deeply. Beautifully dark and romantic i felt everything that Maddie felt and found myself transported to a world of darkness, fearing for my safety(thank god it is fictional!) But I felt it in my heart as I read this book in the dark. I couldn't put it down and read till it was daylight again. Yeah best bookhang over ever!
