Prophecy Of The Female Warrior (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I absolutely loved this book, 'Prophecy Of The Female Warrior'. I literally did not put it down. It pulled me in from the beginning and would not let go, leaving me with wanting more. I loved the storyline and how it played out. Well written. Descriptive action scenes, some hot and steamy scenes and a plot that was captivating. The paranormal aspect was great. I loved the characters. Anna turned out to be quite the bad-ass. I loved her transformation. I can't wait to read book two. A great add to your tbr list. Definitely recommended. (3.5 Stars)I was so looking forward to reading "Prophecy of the Female Warrior" and for the most part it was a really good read; but, then the plot took a turn for the worse when a love triangle was introduced. Those of you who are familiar with my reading interests know I am not a fan of love triangles but tolerate them in YA but not in adult books. So, if they don't bother you, this book maybe right up your alley.I truly enjoy first person narratives and "Prophecy of the Female Warrior" is the reason why..The plot begins with our main character, Annabelle, reeling from the dead of her husband, Joe. The reader is immediately thrown into the heart wrenching agony of Anna attempting to rebuild her life. At Joe's funeral Anna sees a tall, mysterious, stranger she is immediately drawn to. Her attempt to approach him is interrupted by her brother in law, Dan but this won't be the last time she sees him.Anna has always been different from her younger sister. She has always had the ability to read people to the point her sister teases she is psychic but when she has a vision that suggests Joe did not die of an aneurysm but was murdered by a demon her family thinks she is emotionally damaged. As the days go by, Annabelle sees other strange creatures as well as the mysterious man from the cemetery. He warns her she is in danger and soon they are running off together to the dismay of her brother in law and family. Anna learns that the stranger's name is Eli and what he shares with her will change her life forever.There was so much I truly enjoyed about the book including the world building but I just couldn't get over The fact the fact that Anna is a 32 year old woman who lost her husband of ten years and within days is now horny and potential in love with two men. Another thing that bothered me is I just didn't buy the love triangle. The reader is given ample time to get to know Eli but very little time to get to know Nyoka and we are to believe Anna could love both men. At this point I am not sure if I will be going on to the next book. I will wait a few days before I decide.
