Psych's Guide To Crime Fighting For The Totally Unqualified (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Reading this book is like eating the dessert called Pavlova (meringue topped with whipped cream); sweet, frothy, but ultimately insubstantial. Don't get me wrong, I LIKED it immensely, but, as Gertrude Stein once said about Oakland, "There's no THERE there."Nearly all of the show's characters were represented here: Shawn, Gus, Juliet, Lassiter, Henry, Buzz McNab, Woody, Chief Nick, even a recipe from Mr. Yang and a quote from Pierre Desperaux (my favorite guest star, wish "Shawn" had included more from/about him). All of the "Voices" were spot-on and wickedly funny. If you enjoy(ed) the show, you'll most likely enjoy this book. Just don't count on actually LEARNING anything about sleuthing. Super funny book about the Psych TV show which I love to watch and laugh until I'm breathless. So we get Shawn Spencer educating us about life as a fake psychic detective. If you read page 13 about death counts and don't laugh; there is something very wrong with you. I laughed until I cried and then had to read that page to everyone in the house, one by one.Gus is going to always by my favorite because who doesn't love the supersnifer?!Cameos from Chief Vick, Lassiter, Henry, Buzz MacNab and Juliet with tons of notes at the bottem of the page which are hilarious and should be read.Quite silly fun read that will turn your winter sadness into chuckles.305 pages and given as a holiday gift, Thanks Chris!
