Purgatory Masters: Tucker's Fall (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

okay...I had read roped and sorry but I thought it was meh, I got it but it was too short and it felt like a tiny piece of a bigger pie and I really wanted more pie. When Tucker's Fall came out I was not tempted but I purchased Alpha Bad Boys boxed set and this was one of the books.Oh my. Tucker and Maggie were a delight. I would have given it 5 stars except the talk of some secret to do with Tucker's dad, the town and lots of babies to lots of women and there being lots, lots more to the story that Tucker is keeping from Maggie at the behest of Mason. Now I have to buy books 2 (Levi's Ultimatum) and 3 (Mason's book when it comes out) cause now I've got to know. I am heartily sick of cliff hangers and this one has one, at the same time as having it's own HEA sort of confusingly clever really. Part of a book-bundle, by the title alone I knew what I was going to find in those pages and even if there were a couple of surprises I don't think they were enough to make this a memorable read. The main problem with this book for me was the plot, as there wasn't one!! We are given the background information but they are too superficial to justify the story the characters get into.Maggie has been studying the power exchange in a BDSM relationship for years but the moment she is found/arrested in a BDSM club she loses not only her marriage but also her reputation as a scholar. And I ask: why? Surely, a professor that is working on her PhD dissertation on power exchange in a D/s relationship would be expected to do some field work, right? And not only does this not make sense, the fact that she has spent years of her life studying alternative lifestyles (this is one of the many inconsistencies in the book: does she study power exchange or alternative lifestyles?) but that she feels ashamed to be interested in pursuing one is baffling!!!! So, she retreats into her childhood small town only to be reunited with her old acquainted Tucker, who just happens to a Dominant looking for a sub. And there you go, this is the plot. Or lack thereof. Because from the moment they see each other again is sex scene after sex scene, after sex scene. And despite them being well written, it was difficult for me to believe she would allow so many thing to be done to her, with her by someone she didn't have a past with and that she had just reconnected with. And then, there is still the problem with Tucker's character. After so many sex scenes we hear he is a sex addict, involved in something so bad that he is tormented by it and fears Maggie would leave him if he told her but are not told what/how or why. It's just too much information kept from the reader and it makes connecting with the story even harder. I guess the writer wanted to save something for a sequel... which I will not be reading!

What do You think about Purgatory Masters: Tucker's Fall (2013)?

I loved it. Tucker and Maggie are a great couple and pull you in. Can't wait for the next book.
