On a rainy night a young woman named in Germany is wandering in a daze down a highway when she is struck and killed by a driver. An autopsy reveals that she suffered blunt force trauma prior to this accident. All the evidence is present at a nearby rest stop. What follows is the police investigation into this incident as well as a detailed look into the private lives of the police detectives, the young woman's friends and family and a number of suspects. There are two sides to this novel. The mystery of the girls attacker and the police efforts to solve this case and the private life stories. The former is rather lacking in suspense and the police work is not very clever or probably realistic. However, the private lives, full of infidelity, prostitution, runaway children, etc. etc. is a far more entertaining piece of work. As a member of Amazon Prime, I receive on free Kindle Book each month - a nice deal. I get 4 to chose from - and this was one of my freebies. It was an okay read - characters a bit edgy for me, but i eventually got into the story enough to want to finish it. It did not make a deep impression on me, however, because when I went to log it into Goodreads, I couldn't remember anything about the story until I looked back into the book. Murder mystery - heroine is police officer, various sub-plots.
What do You think about Rain Girl (2014)?
Not an author that I normally read, I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery of the story. Well written!
