1.5Well that was awful. Why couldn't the book start from the last few chapters and in between give the readers some history of Dinah's life. This whole book was made as a world builder, but that's not all i want to read about. The whole book should have only been about no more than half the entire book. But alas, I had to endure reading unnecessary information and had to suffer reading Dinah's naivety and childness. However, I see great potential for the next book. Hopefully I will not be disappointed. As Alice spin off stories go this one seems very promising. It could do with a fair bit more traditional Wonderland Madness but the story is strong enough for me to want to stick with it and see where it goes. I'm going to give the second book a good read before I pass judgment entirely. Taking the first book as it is however it's a 3.5-4 star. Giving it 4 for benefit of the doubt, it had me page turning and losing sleep to finish 'just 1 more chapter', so I certainly like the writing, it's the story and it's connection to Lewis Carroll's work that has me a little apprehensive.I found the character's very likable and reading about the old favourites in human form with their old mannerisms is fun to spot and ponder about. I kind of like the back story of Cheshire and I rarely like people messing with my favourite grinning cat so that's a definite plus for it. Not a big fan of the Mad Hatter's new story however, it seems a little off and I wonder how it'll be weaved into the ending. I assume we have to get to Alice's Adventures somehow? At the moment it seems very distant from that place. How does it change? Does it change? Is this the difference between the memories and recount of a child versus an adult's view of Wonderland? ... I'm very curiouser and curiouser to find out.
What do You think about Rainha De Copas (2014)?
I really enjoyed it. Okay parts I wanted to know wjy it was relevant but overall it was quite good.

An interesting take on the wonderland tale. It's got me interested enough to start volume 2.
