I LOVED this book! It was a super fun, real-life fairy tale. The smart and witty writing from this British author, Hester Browne, has become one of my new favorites. It is a notch or two above the typical "feel good" book. A British gardener starts dating a real-life prince; this story tells the tale of all of the responsibilities (and glamour!) that come along with it. I would highly recommend this book! This was a modern story, told (at least I think so) in the manner of Lynn Kurland. Amy is an everyday girl, living in London, sharing a tiny flat with her friend Jo. They are night and day, Jo outgoing and knows everyone, Amy is shy and gets tongue-tied. At one of their parties, Amy exchanges a "look" with one of the party crashers who is named Leo. They meet for lunch in a beautiful garden and as Amy is a gardener, she recognizes a well-maintained, expensive area. Turns out Leo is a true real life prince. The book becomes a modern-daystory of a rag-to-riches, gardener-to-princess story. It was fun to read, but since it was always from Amy's POV, one never really knew what Leo was thinking. That is the only reason this is not a five star.
What do You think about Regalami Una Favola (2013)?
This is an entertaining book. Very predictable and not a terribly original, but enjoyable enough.
